"Dewindt Fuel Trading" - settled in the harbour of Antwerp - is owned and run by two brothers, Bob and Karel Dewindt, both in their late fifties. Bob the eccentric bachelor and Karel the ascetic and surly family man. Their conflicting views on life and business will lead to a split full of hate and revenge.

But there is also the next generation, the sons of Karel, who claim their part and roll in the business, if possible the main part.

And what about the women? Mrs Dewindt and Lies, her fashion designing daughter and daughter-in-law Sonia, mother of the only grandchild, are they also children of Dewindt?
