Right to Justice is an exciting drama series, about events in and involving a Brussels law firm.
It is a law court drama that goes beyond the boundaries of the genre to focus on the background to the cases and the personalities of the two leading characters: lawyer Chris Haagdoorn and her 'sidekick' administrative secretary Hugo Van Eyck.
Leducq & Partners is a small but successful Brussels law firm, located near the palace of justice. Sixty-year-old Paul Emile Leducq is its senior partner and founder. The other lawyer/partners are thirty-one-year-old Gabriël Nukerke and thirty-year-old Chris Haagdoorn. Hugo Van Eyck is the firm's administrative secretary and Chris Haagdoorn's ally and support.
Although the firm depends primarily on lucrative financial, civil and divorce cases, Chris Haagdoorn is drawn, as if by a magnet, to criminal cases involving murder, manslaughter, death threats, assault and battery, and suchlike. But she also takes on other cases: financial cases, robbery with violence, arson... cases in which the dupes - be they criminals or their victims - have decided to take the law into their own hands or been driven to acts of desperation.
Chris's right hand is the maverick Hugo Van Eyck, who previously worked for the judicial police. Officially he is employed as the law firm's administrative secretary, but his detective instincts constantly take him down other paths.
Recht op Recht consists of 45 episodes that each tell a complete story about a case in which the main characters have become involved.
