Upset at Club Brugge

An upset at Club Brugge on Friday night as the Blue Army saw their team lose 3 - 2 at home against Lokeren. During the match it also emerged that the Club Brugge chairman, Michel D'Hooghe, had been taken into hospital.
Despite the disappointing result for the home team this was a match with goals galore.

Janczyk was first to score for the visitors. Overmeire made it 2 - 0, while De Wilde took Lokeren into a commanding lead.

Club Brugge only had themselves to blame for the poor result. They played poorly and after an hour's play only ten players remained on the pitch.

Simaeys was given a second yellow card.

In the final stages of the match Club Brugge came back into the game with both Akpala and Dahmane scoring.

Club Brugge are third in the league, Lokeren fifth.

D'Hooghe in Sint-Jan

During the match it also emerged that the Club Brugge chairman, Michel D'Hooghe, had been taken into hospital.

The 63-year-old became unwell as he was getting ready for the match.

At the beginning of March D'Hooghe announced he would be stepping down as Club Brugge Chairman. Pol Jonckheere succeeds him.
