UNIZO denounces multinational profit policy

Unizo, the Flemish organisation of Self-Employed and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) on Sunday denounced some practices of certain multinationals in their conquest to maximise profits in this time of crisis. According to Unizo some multinationals try to make profit on the backs of the smaller suppliers.
Unizo is asking Minister of Enterprises Vincent Van Quickenborne to investigate the problem and to put it on the European agenda.

According to a Unizo three-monthly SME barometer (of 700 SMEs) the crisis has slowly reached its lowest point. The small and medium-sized enterprises are negative about the future but not as negative as they were three months ago. Still, 18 percent of the SMEs expect their activities to decline further in the third quarter of the year.

The SME barometer also reveals that 26% of those surveyed experience an increasing pressure from their pay instalments. 33% say that payments due are often coming in late.
UNIZO is a Flemish organisation of Self-Employed and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). UNIZO represents some 85,000 companies, freelancers and small and medium-sized companies. The organisation provides information and advice to its members and promotes networking both within Flanders as with foreign companies.
