Royal Boch saved from bankruptcy

The commercial court of Mons has definitively approved the take-over of Royal Boch porcelain factory. The Brussels businessman Patrick De Maeyer will become the new owner of the company. 39 of the 47 employees of the factory may keep their jobs.
Royal Boch is the last chinaware manufacturer in Belgium. The factory was founded in 1841 in La Louviere, in eastern Belgium, and has remained open ever since. On 26 February it declared bankruptcy. The Brussels businessman Patrick De Maeyer showed interest in the company and made a take-over bid.

The commercial court of Mons today approved the take-over bid. 39 of the 47 employees left at the factory will continue working. The decision by the judge of the Mons court was met with loud applause.  It was an emotional moment for the employees.
