At the Athletics World Championships in Berlin Kevin Borlée is the second Belgian (after Elodie Ouedraogo) to move past the heats. He ran a controlled 400m race and came in an easy third in his heat. He finished in 45"61. The semi-finals will be run on Wednesday from 6:15 pm.

"I thought that it went well," Kevin Borlée said to the VRT sports channel Sporza. "It's not easy to run in the eighth lane. I kept up a good rhythm without going too deep."
"My time was OK, not super, but OK, none of the times are super in this phase of the race. Tomorrow is another day," added Kevin Borlée.
