Sint-Truiden alone at the top!

In first division football Sint-Truiden, promoted to first just this year, pulled out an impressive 2-1 win over the number two of the season last year Anderlecht. Not only was it an impressive victory but Sint-Truiden took the three points and move into the leader position with 14 points after the 6th day of play.
Sint-Truiden opened the scoring for their home crowd in the 6th minute with a goal by Cephas Chimedza. With a very weak and listless Anderlecht before them the home team doubled their lead with another goal just 3 minutes later. The 9th minute home goal was for Ibrihim Sidibe (photo).
Anderlecht were hopeless and helpless and could do nothing more than stop another goal against them. Only in the 83rd minute did a goal fall for the team that just missed becoming champions last season in a penalty shoot out with Standard. The one goal for Anderlecht was by Roland Juhász.

An utter humiliation, the first loss of the season for Anderlecht was to a team that was promoted from second this season. Sint-Truiden lead in the overall standings with 14 points. AA Gent and Anderlecht have 13 points.

Standard come alongside Club Brugge in the fourth place but Club have a game in hand, meeting Racing Genk Sunday evening.

Steven Dufour broke his foot (photo) and will be out of play for about 3 months.  This is bad news for Standard which have a Champions League match on Wednesday against Arsenal.
At the bottom of the overall rankings Westerlo pulls away from last place after a first victory of the season. Westerlo beat Mouscron by 0-1. The one goal was by Adnan Mravac in the 65th minute.
