Samsonite to cut 211 jobs

The suitcase manufacturer Samsonite has announced a collective dismissal at its European headquarters. 211 jobs are reportedly to be axed at Samsonite in Oudenaarde (East Flanders). Apart from being the European headquarters Oudenaarde also has a production unit, research and distribution centre.

Samsonite has announced a collective dismissal of the company in Oudenaarde (East Flanders). The dismissal looks likely to affect 161 blue collar workers and 50 administrative staff.

The European headquarters for Samsonite is in Oudenaarde, together with a production unit and a research and distribution centre.

700 people work for Samsonite in Oudenaarde.
