BASF closes Walloon factory

Chemical concern BASF has announced that it would close down the factory in Feluy, in the Walloon province of Hainaut. The news was announced during a special meeting of the works council.

133 people work at the BASF factory in Feluy. The management of the site falls under BASF Antwerp.

"We will begin negotiations with the trade union representatives as soon as possible to try and find an acceptable solution for all the workers. We will also look for viable options for employment elsewhere," says Wouter De Geest, CEO of BASF Antwerp.
