Club Brugge remain at the top

In first division football Club Brugge are still at the top of the overall rankings. Club Brugge beat Sint-Truiden 1-0. Anderlecht are still one point behind the leaders after beating Lokeren 2-0. KV Mechelen lost to Kortrijk 2-0. Zulte-Waregem and Charleroi drew 2-2 as did Westerlo against Roeselare.

Clib Brugge vs Sint-Truiden : 1-0

Leader Club Brugge with Anderlecht at their heels have increased the distance with the other competitors.

Club Brugge beat Sint-Truiden 1-0. The one goal of the match was by Ronald Vargas in the 74th minute. Sint-Truiden, who started the season at the top of the rankings with several victories, have sunk to 8th place in the overall rankings with 17 points, together with Kortrijk.

Anderlecht have 29 points, one less than Club Brugge at 30 points. Anderlecht beat Lokeren 2-0. Lokeren is second from the bottom at 11 points together with Mouscron.

Anderlecht vs Lokeren : 2-0

Without the suspended Boussoufa, Anderlecht clearly lacked creativity. Lokeren began the match as the better team. Tshimanga almost scored the first goal for a 0-1 lead, but Proto stopped the ball. It was Romelu Lukaku who opened the scoring, taking the home team to a 1-0 lead in the 34th minute.

The score remained 1-0 going into the second half. In the 66th minute Matias Suarez scored the second goal for Anderlecht. 2-0 was the final score for the Anderlecht home match.

KV Mechelen lost to Kortrijk by 2-0

The first half of the match was good entertainment with plenty of opportunities to score for both teams. But no goals fell in the first half. Two minutes into the second half Ibou scored for the home team, taking the score to 1-0.

Mohamed Messoudi scored the second goal of the match, for the home team, in the 87th minute. 2-0 was the final score. KV Mechelen pick up the three points and are in fourth place in the overall standings at 21 points, just one point less than defending champions Standard de Liège.

Standard beat Mouscron on Friday night. Standard with 22 points, trail the next placed Anderlecht by 7 points.

Zulte-Waregem vs Charleroi : 2-2

Zulte-Waregem could have used the three points, and at the last minute had to concede the victory to settle for a draw. Mahamadou Habibou equalised for Charleroi in the third minute of overtime in the second half.

Mujangi Bia opened the scoring in the 9th minute for Charleroi, the visitors. The equaliser by Kevin Roelandts came minutes before half-time in the 41st minute. Ludwin Van Nieuwenhuyze took the visitors to a precarious 2-1 lead in the 54th minute.

Zulte-Waregem looked set to take the needed three points to jump over KV Mechelen, but in the third minute of overtime in the second half, Mahamadou Habibou dashed the hopes of Zulte-Waregem.

Zulte-Waregem trail fourth placed KV Mechelen by one point, at 20 points. Charleroi have 14 points.

Westerlo vs Roeselare : 2-2

Westerlo conceded their chance to push ahead and keep up with the 8th placed Sint-Truiden with a three-point victory over last-placed Roeselare.

After a goalless first half, Dieter Dekelver put the home team ahead in the 65th minute. Steven De Petter took the score to a 2-0 lead with a penalty shot. Damir Mirvic made the first goal for the visitors in the 84th minute. The equaliser came just three minutes later (87') with a goal by Stefan Nikolic.

Westerlo have 15 points and are now in 10th place. Roeselare are in last place with 7 points.
