Anderlecht know what it is to lose again

In first division football leaders Anderlecht lost at home to Sint-Truiden 1-2. It was Anderlecht's first defeat since 4 October. They retain the lead in the overall standings with 9 points more than Club Brugge in second place. Germinal Beerschot drew against Westerlo, Lokeren beat KV Mechelen, and Cercle Brugge defeated Roeselare 2-0.

Anderlecht vs STVV : 1-2

Leaders Anderlecht are not used to losing any more, but they were humiliated at home by 5th placed Sint-Truiden. The club from Limburg beat Anderlecht 1-2.

Jelle Van Damme opened the scoring with the one and only goal of the match for Anderlecht. He scored in the 24th minute, putting the team in the lead for no more than 6 minutes until Peter Delorge scored the equaliser for STVV (30').

The decisive goal was made only in the last minutes of official time. Cephas Chimedza earned the three points for the visiting team in the 89th minute of play. Anderlecht could do nothing, but concede their first defeat since 4 October.

STVV pick up a needed three points and now stand on 35 in the overall standings. Anderlecht retain the lead on 54 points. Club Brugge have 45 points and a match in hand.

AA Gent is in third place after 23 days of play with 41 points. Zulte Waregem have 36 points, one more than STVV.

Westerlo vs Germinal Beerschot : 1-1

Germinal Beerschot picked up their first point in six matches with a draw against Westerlo. Germinal Beerschot have 33 points and are in 7th place in the overall standings. Westerlo are in 12th place with 25 points.

Lokeren vs KV Mechelen : 2-1

Mechelen pick up the three points and now have 32 points in the overall standings, good for an 8th place.

Lokeren share a last place in the standings with Roeselare at 15 points.

Cercle Brugge vs Roeselare : 2-0

With the three points from Saturday's match Cercle Brugge have 26 points.
