Kim and Justine back in Fed Cup team

Tennis aces Kim Clijsters and Justine Henin have agreed to play for the Belgian Fed Cup team again. The two will make their comeback in the tie against Estonia in April.

Fed Cup coach Sabine Appelmans confirmed their comeback this morning. Besides Kim Clijsters and Justine Henin, Belgium can also count on rising star Yanina Wickmayer (small photo) and Kirsten Flipkens, who led Belgium to a win in the previous match against Poland.

Clijsters and Henin last played together in the Fed Cup team four years ago. With both top players deciding to quit, nobody could have imagined they would return on the court in the same team.

In 2001, Kim and Justine led the Belgian team to the Fed Cup trophy. "It's great that both make the time to play for their country after their comebacks", says Sabine Appelmans. "This means that we have the strongest possible team. This should enable us to qualify for the World Group top category in 2011, and to have strong ambitions then."

Belgium hosts the tie against Estonia. The venue has not been announced yet, but it should be Hasselt (Limburg province). The underground will be clay. The match is part of the play-off matches for the Fed Cup World Group.
