Earlier Justine Henin beat Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark, the world's number two, in three sets: 6-7 (4/7), 6-3, 6-4.
It is the second time that the two Belgian tennis stars meet since they both returned to top class tennis.
Clijsters told newsmen that she would have to put down an excellent performance if she wanted to win against Henin.
Clijsters beat Henin in their first meeting in Brisbane in January.
Henin too is looking forward to the match. She told reporters: "We grew up together, broke through together, stopped together and made our come back together. There's a positive tension in all our games."
