Tyler Farrar wins Schelde Prize

The American cyclist Tyler Farrar (Garmin team) has won the 98th edition of the Schelde Prize over a distance of 205.4 km (cat. 1.BC). Robbie McEwen of Australia was second with Germany's Robert Förster third.

Belgian champion rider Tom Boonen also took part but spent most of the race helping his teammate Wouter Weylandt. Weylandt failed to benefit from this support and ended 5th. He was the first Belgian.

The race ended in the traditional mass sprint in Schoten (Antwerp).

In all 188 started the race on Antwerp Market Square.
