Wickmayer moves up a place in WTA rankings

The Fleming Yanina Wickmayer has moved up a place in the new WTA-rakings. Wickmayer will start the French Open in 16th place in the league table of the world’s best female tennis players.

Injury-plagued Kim Clijsters, who won’t be playing in Paris, is the highest ranked Belgian.

The former world number one is in 10th place.

Another former world number one Justin Henin is in 23rd place.

Henin is also out of the French Open through injury.

Kirsten Flipkens falls three places in the rankings and is now 71st.
