Henin’s French Open dream is over

Justine Henin's hopes of a fifth French Open title have ended after a 2-6 6-1 6-4 fourth-round defeat by the Australian seventh seed Sam Stosur on Monday afternoon. The four-time French Open winner Henin had looked set to canter through after sealing the opening set in just 32 minutes on court.

However, last year’s semi-finalist Stosur ripped through the second set and despite letting slip an early break in the final set, she broke Henin’s serve again for a 5-4 lead and served out for the match.

It was finally over and out for Henin after an hour and forty-six minutes of play.

Justine Henin left to a standing ovation from the Paris crowd but it will be Stosur who faces American top seed Serena Williams for a place in the semi-finals.
