Top ranking for 6 Belgian beers

The British website tastingbeers.com has announced the winners of its World Beer Awards 2010. Last year, Belgium still had 15 winners in this international competition, this year this number is reduced to 6.

In the category "World's Best Styles", three Belgian beers came out on top:

  • World's Best Pale Ale - Abbey Trappist: Brasserie Saint Feuillin Blonde
  • World's Best Dark Ale - Abbey Trappist: Het Anker Gouden Carolus Classic
  • World's Best Dark Ale - Flavoured: Rodenbach Grand Cru

In the category "Regional Best Styles", Belgium had another three winners.

  • Europe's Best Pale Ale - Imperial: Houblon Chouffe
  • Europe's Best Pale Ale - Seasonal: Urthel Saisonniere
  • Europe's Best Wheat Beer - Fruit: Floris Kriek
