The Belgian team will now play at the European Championships in Lithuania next year.
Belgium got off to a nervous start and was intimidated by the Polish giants. Poland took the lead, but with the crowd of the Lotto Arena on its side the Belgian team soon narrowed the gap.
When play was resumed in the second half the Belgian Lions put down a strong performance scoring ten points in a row, though they failed to bridge the gap entirely.
In the final quarter of an hour Belgium and Poland repeatedly challenged each other for the lead in the match.
Poland had a four point lead minutes before the final whistle. Sheer determination took the Lions alongside and when Beghin scored three points taking them into the lead the crowd broke the house down.
