Another black day for Club Brugge

It was another bad evening for Club Brugge on Sunday as they lost their match away at Sint-Truiden by 2 goals to 1. Sunday evening’s other match between KV Mechelen and Zulte Waregem ended in a goalless draw.

Despite getting off to a strong start, Club Brugge lost their match away at Sint-Truiden.

Although Club Brugge pretty much dominated the first half, it was Sint-Truiden that took the lead on 14 minutes when Sidibe converted what was the Canaries' only chance of the half.

The second half saw the visitors continue to apply the pressure.

However, this time they were at least rewarded for their hard work.

Nabil Dirar brought Club Brugge level on the hour.

Sint-Truiden did all they could to salvage the point.

Club Brugge went down to ten men when Peter Van der Heyden was given his second yellow card of the evening on 77 minutes.

With a one man advantage, Sint-Truiden pushed forward.

However, Sidibe lacked the accuracy he had shown in the first half.

Sint-Truiden’s winning goal came from a Wim Mennes (photo) free-kick two minutes from time.

The win sees Sint-Truiden pull away from the relegation zone.

The Canaries are now 12th with 17 points from 17 games.

Club Brugge is 8th with 24 points, 13 points behind the league-leaders Sporting Anderlecht.
