Yet another bomb at NATO

Construction workers busy building NATO's new Brussels headquarters encountered yet another nasty surprise on Saturday.

Another unexploded allied bomb dating from the Second World War was uncovered during excavations on the building site at Evere, on the outskirts of the Belgian capital.

Belgian bomb disposal officers were immediately on the scene and made the device safe.

The Leopold III-laan along which NATO headquarters are located and which links central Brussels to the airport had to be closed for a while.
