Club Brugge decided the match before the break, taking a 3-0 lead in Eupen. The difference between the hosts and the visitors was clear: Brugge made the most of its chances, while Eupen missed several good opportunities.
After taking a comfortable lead, FC Bruges controlled the second half. Ronald Vargas scored his second goal of the match, bringing his tally to 14 goals. That's only two short of the 16 goals of the league's current top scorer, Racing Genk's Jelle Vossen.
Eupen were able to pull one back in added time, when Bruges defender Carl Hoefkens kicked the ball onto his own goalkeeper and the ball ended up in the net (1-4).
The third successive win takes Club Brugge to third place in the standings, equal on points with AA Gent. Anderlecht still have the lead and are facing Standard de Liège in this weekend's summit match on Sunday.
