Tripadvisor.com has announced its so-called Travelers' Choice Awards. It makes its yearly ranking based on the comments of millions of travellers.
Bruges is the only Belgian city making it into the list of the 25 best European destinations. "What could be more romantic and inspiring than a place that looks like a backdrop of a fairy tale?", the website says.
Paris is on number one, followed by Rome and London. The list also includes some surprises like Rothenburg ob der Tauber in Germany, Interlaken in Switzerland and Positano in Italy.
Belgium did not make the list of the 25 best destinations worldwide. However, our country did catch a prize in the category Bed&Breakfasts and hotels. "Varlet Farm" in Ieper (West Flanders) takes 9th position in the list of the best B&B's in Europe, while "Hotel Prinsenhof" in Bruges can call itself Europe's second best luxury hotel in the world. According to TripAdvisor, it offers the 9th best service in Europe.
