Two including minor held over violent metro attack

Two suspects have been detained as part of the investigation into a violent incident that led to a member of the public ending up on the metro tracks and being run down by a metro train.

The events occurred in the Clémenceau station in Anderlecht at the end of May. The two suspects are thought to have attacked a 41-year-old woman with the intention of robbing her of her handbag. The woman ended up on the tracks and was badly injured.

The suspects were identified using CCTV footage made in the station. One is only 15 and has been placed in a youth detention centre.

Their alleged victim is on the mend.
