Genk advance in Champions League

Belgium's Racing Genk are through to the group phase of the Champions League. The Limburgers beat Maccabi Haifa of Israel after a penalty shoot-out.

By half time Genk had clawed back the ground they lost during the first leg. Vossen was first to score for the Limburgers. Golasa equalised for the visitors in the 38th minute, while Buffel took Genk into the lead minutes before half-time.

It was a nail-biting second half as neither team managed to score. Extra time didn't help to settle the matter either.

Genk took four penalty points, while Maccabi Haifa only managed a single one.

Maccabi Haifa earlier won the first leg 2 - 1.
