Strike to affect baggage at Brussels Airport?

The socialist union has issued notification of a strike at Flightcare, the company that processes baggage at Brussels Airport.

The union of transport workers is seeking a new settlement to deal with excessive work pressure. The union is insisting that the management must deploy the staff numbers agreed for every type of airplane. The union also want more staff to help unload baggage from planes.

On Sunday Flightcare staff walked out in protest against work pressure. Emergency talks are planned for today in an attempt to reach an agreement and avert the strike.

Any industrial action is planned for mid-September.
