Belgian trade mission arrives in China

A large Belgian trade mission left for China yesterday evening. The mission includes over 400 members and is headed by Crown Prince Filip, who is accompanied by his wife Princess Mathilde during the first part of the trip. Flemish PM Kris Peeters will join the mission later, as he is still involved in talks about Dexia.

The delegation will spend 9 days in China and will visit 6 cities. Apart from Beijing and Shanghai, these include Tianjin, Chongqing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

The federal level is represented by Foreign Minister Steven Vanackere, the Flemish level by Kris Peeters (both Christian democrats).
