Genk reverse string of bad luck

Racing Genk put pay to its critics by ending a spate of disappointing results with a 2 - 0 win against Mons on Saturday night. Genk only managed one point from its last three matches. In the Champions League they were trounced by Chelsea on Wednesday night.

Thomas Buffel's two goals secured a win that was badly needed. Racing Genk are now in 6th position in the league on equal points with Mons that are 5th.

Cercle Brugge continue a spectacular season with a 2 - 0 win against newcomers OH Leuven. Cercle has the same number of points as city rivals Club Brugge that play a West Flemish derby against Kortrijk at 6 PM on Sunday.

Sint-Truiden travelled to Lierse for their first win of the season beating Franky Van de Elst's squad 2 - 0.

KV Mechelen were away at Beershot and seemed on track for victory. Mechelen went 2 - 0 ahead, but lost their lead thanks to two own goals.

On Sunday afternoon Anderlecht beat Westerlo away 2 – 1. Anderlecht stay in first place.
