The 26-year-old Belgium international has been with Manchester City for four years now and as captain led his squad to victory in the Premiership last season landing the league title for City for the first time in living memory.
The club is now rewarding him with a long contract. This is the first time that Manchester City offers a player a six year contract.
Kompany told VRT News: "When you feel comfy somewhere there's no need to look out for something different."
