Soccer: Anderlecht not yet out of the woods

Zulte Waregem and Lokeren are hot on the heels of Anderlecht following away wins at AA Gent and Mons. Glen De Boeck won his first match with Waasland-Beveren, while Cercle lost theirs making them bottom of League Division One.

After Anderlecht beat Beerschot 4 - 1 away in the early evening Lokeren and Zulte Waregem both needed a win to keep up the pressure on the leaders.

Zulte Waregem managed a win away at AA Gent, their first such victory in three years. Francky Dury substituted Lendric into the match against his old team after half-time and he made the only goal of the match. AA Gent have only won once in nine matches.

Lokeren had a hard time away at Mons. Perbet made his ninth of season, but Persoons (photo) was quick to equalise. Gueye took the visitors 2 - 1 ahead in the closing stages.

At the bottom Cercle go bottom after Waasland-Beveren beat KV Mechelen 1 - 0 away.

Kortrijk thrashed Cercle Brugge 3 - 1.

This Sunday morning Anderlecht top the First Division followed by Zulte Waregem and Lokeren. Kortrijk are fourth, Racing Genk fifth.
