Zulte Waregem keep pressure on Anderlecht

Zulte Waregem were happy bunnies on Saturday night returning home from Cercle Brugge with three points in their pockets after a late goal. Zulte Waregem have now closed the gap on leaders Anderlecht to five points as the Brussels eleven prepares to face down Standard. Lierse drew against Lokeren and takes the 14th spot in Division One.

Cercle Brugge soon raced ahead of Zulte Waregem, but despite a penalty lost 2 - 1 at the end of the day. Cercle are now bottom of the league. Zulte Waregem are pressing the leaders and are in a strong second place.

Faults abounded in Lierse v Lokeren. Lierse managed a late equaliser allowing the two teams to share the points. Lierse are 14th and overtake Beerschot that lost away at AA Gent earlier in the evening.

Kortrijk beat KV Mechelen 2 - 1 and are seventh.

Waasland Beveren lost their first match after six wins thanks to a 3 - 0 thrashing by Mons.

OH Leuven beat Charleroi 1 - 0.

On Sunday afternoon Racing Genk thrashed Club Brugge 4 – 1 at home. The Genk goals came fast, twice from Hyland including one penalty, Barda and Limbombe. Bacca scored late for Club Brugge. Genk are 5th, Club Brugge are 6th.
