This weekend's Belgian soccer results

Lierse returned home satisfied from Beerschot last night. Their 3 - 1 away win allow them to summersault over Beerschot and land on the 14th spot.

Waasland Beveren v Lokeren was a goalless draw. Waasland secured one vital point allowing them to be certain of a place in the first division next year.

There was a surprise 2 - 1 win for OH Leuven at KV Mechelen. The home squad now has no realistic chance of ending up among the top six teams this season.

Kortrijk travelled to Mons to lose 1 - 0. The win for Mons allows this club to summersault over Kortrijk to the 8th spot.

AA Gent beat Cercle Brugge at home 2 - 0, while Charleroi v Zulte Waregem was cancelled.

On Sunday afternoon Anderlecht visited Club Brugge where the match was given the go ahead after a pitch inspection. Club went into the dressing room with a 1 - 0 advantage thanks to Odjijda, but the Blue Army was in for a disappointment.  Bacca first took the home squad 2 - 0 ahead but then Bruno scored for Anderlecht. In the closing stages Armenteros made it 2 - 2.

Anderlecht lead the Belgian First Division followed by Zulte Waregem and Racing Genk.

In other sports news the cycling classic Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne has been called off after Sunday's heavy snowfall.
