Kirsten Flipkens climbs to 15 in tennis rankings

Her semi-final at Wimbledon allowed Kirsten Flipkens to gain 5 places in the WTA world rankings. It's the first time the 27-year-old from Mol (Antwerp) makes it into the top-15. The new Wimbledon Champion, France's Marion Bartoli, jumps from 15th to 7th place.

Serena Williams retains first place, before Maria Sharapova and Viktoria Azarenka. Flipkens is the top-ranked Belgian; the next Belgian on the list is Yanina Wickmayer on 48.

In the men's rankings, Novak Djokovic is still the number 1. Andy Murray is on 2, David Ferrer on 3. The top-ranked Belgian is West-Fleming Xavier Malisse at 88, after losing a staggering 27 places. Malisse is the only Belgian in the top-100, as David Goffin lost 24 places, tumbling to 107.Goffin enjoyed a nice run at Wimbledon last year, but suffered an early exit this year.
