Brussels fire-fighters discover cannabis plantation

Belgian fire-fighters have discovered an enormous cannabis plantation purely by accident. Thousands of cannabis plants were found on two floors in a home in the Brussels borough of Schaarbeek. A further cannabis plantation was under construction on a third floor.

A police patrol attended the scene of a traffic incident only to discover a massive water leak. Fire-fighters were called to the scene and it was them who actually discovered the cannabis plants in a house in Schaarbeek.

2,181 plants were retrieved from the first floor. A further 1,744 were found a floor higher. On the highest floor work had already started on the construction of an extension to the plantation.

As a result of problems with the electricity the pipes belonging to the cannabis irrigation system had melted resulting in the massive leakage of water. Police are now investigating the matter, but are still to make any arrests.
