Metro services resume after accident

Metro services between the central Brussels stations of Merode and Central Station were halted earlier this morning following an accident involving a member of the public. The Brussels local transport company MIVB says that shuttle buses ferried passengers between the two stations.

Services resumed at 9:50am.

The accident happened at 8am during the morning rush hour. The member of the public involved in the accident is dead.

The MIVB initially warned that the disruption could last for some time this morning adding that it was particularly busy at Central Station.
