Job Contact is a joint effort by the Flemish Employment and Vocational Training Service VDAB and its Brussels counterpart Actiris. The event takes place in the middle of the so-called "Working Week" launched by Actiris. Job seekers have until Friday to take part in activities and courses that should make it easier for them to find work. They can receive coaching about how to have a good job interview, or how to compile a good curriculum.
Job Contact can offer visitors 500 vacancies. Job seekers can meet representatives of employers like supermarket store Colruyt, Belgian Rail or the City of Brussels.
Last year, the event attracted some 7,000 visitors, and estimations about today's visitor numbers are almost equal. Most visitors came from Brussels, Flemish Brabant and the Mechelen region. Those who want to meet potential employers, have time until tonight to do so.
