'Hole in the Wall' blown up in Antwerp Province

A cashpoint in the Antwerp municipality of Sint-Job-in-'t-Goor has been the target of a particularly vicious attack by thieves. The ATM attached to the wall of the branch of a local bank was blown up using explosives.

A loud explosion in the middle of the night roused local residents from their slumber. The residents immediately alerted the police.

The damage is extensive. The ATM was completely destroyed by the impact of the explosion. The force of the blast blew the branch's door off its hinges and a wall collapsed too.

The thieves managed to get away with their booty, but it hasn't yet been established how much money they managed to thieve.
