Nightly miracle in Walloon hamlet?

The Bishop of Liège has dispatched a priest to the village of Jalhay to investigate claims that a miracle is happening in the hamlet each and every night. There are reports that a statuette representing the Virgin Mary light up every evening in the home of a couple in the Walloon village. Already there is speculation that Jalhay could become a new Lourdes.

The Bishop of Liège is taking the speculation about a possible nightly miracle in the Walloon hamlet seriously. Mgr Jean-Pierre Delville notes that the Roman Catholic Church in Belgium will not recognise facts, but may provide recognition that what happens does not conflict with the message of the Gospel.

The miraculous lighting up of the stone statuette of the Virgin Mary attracts between 30 and 50 faithful every night.
