Daily Telegraph: "I'd spend £100 million on Kompany"

Kompany's inclusion in tonight's crucial match against the USA remains uncertain and has Belgium in its grip, but also overseas the worth of the Belgian captain is increasingly being appreciated. Former Liverpool defender Alan Hansen says that the Belgian is the best defender at the World Cup.

59-year-old Hansen won the English league title on eight occasions with Liverpool and the UEFA Cup three times. Hansen is a familiar face on BBC and has now waxed lyrical about Vincent Company in an opinion piece in the Daily Telegraph.

Hansen tells the Daily Telegraph if he was a Premier League manager with £100 million to spend on the best two central defenders at this World Cup he would probably spend it all on Vincent Kompany.
