Lecturer suspended on suspicion of possessing child porn

A lecturer at the PXL Institute of Higher Education in Hasselt (Limburg) has been suspended. The man was detained two months ago on suspicion of possessing child pornography.

The case was brought to light by the man’s ex-girlfriend and his employer was not aware of any misdemeanours.

Thousands of pictures were confiscated at the man’s home during a house-search. The ex-girlfriend discovered he had taken pictures of their child and other minors. During the search, images of female students were also discovered.

The PXL Institute of Higher Education was not aware of any misdemeanours and has now suspended the lecturer. “We were contacted during the summer break and found out our colleague had been detained. We take these allegations very seriously and suspended the lecturer, even though we were not aware of any offenses committed on our premises or complaints filed by students,” said Bob Lambrechts, Principal of the PXL Institute of Higher Education.
