For a week three Studio Brussel presenters egged on the Flemish to stage actions to raise cash. Transmissions went to air from a wet and cold field in Boom where listeners were invited to jive to some great music. In all 47,000 people made the move. Broadcasts from Boom could count on an estimated radio audience of 2.3 million.
Members of the public could donate by sponsoring musical requests. In all volunteers staged 2,040 fundraising activities.
By Christmas Eve this year's fundraiser had collected 2,727,405 euros for charity.
