Oostende unthroned after "amazing" stint

Oostende are no longer top of the Belgian First Division this Monday after both Anderlecht and AA Gent summersaulted over the coast boys. Anderlecht beat Moeskroen-Pérulwelz on Sunday evening 2 - 0, while AA Gent earlier travelled to OH Leuven to win 2 - 0 too.

The success of both AA Gent and Anderlecht brings to an end Oostende's unprecedented stint as the leader of the First Division. Oostende failed to impress against Charleroi drawing 1 - 1 against the Walloon club thanks to a late goal from Cyriac. Charleroi are now ninth.

Club Brugge beat Westerlo 2 - 0 away to take fourth place in the league. Westerlo are in the relegation zone and currently bottom of the table. They are joined by OH Leuven that were thrashed by AA Gent.

Zulte Waregem drew against Kortrijk and are in fifth position, while Racing Genk lost at home to Lokeren 2 - 0.
