Refugees travelling in the 'wrong' direction detained

Belgian police have detained two migrants along the E40 Ostend Brussels motorway after they were seen chucking empty crates out of a lorry.

Bart De Cock of the federal traffic police: "We received calls from several lorry drivers saying that they had seen people chucking fruit and veg crates out of a lorry. The lorry had stopped at a motorway carpark in Wetteren and there we observed two suspected illegals jumping from the lorry. They were heading in the 'wrong' direction. The lorry was travelling inland."

The two suspects have meanwhile been detained while Belgian police try to establish their nationality.
