Gangster Habran to be freed from prison

Michel Habran is being released from jail. The 82-year-old convicted gangster will have to wear an electronic tag though.

Marc Uyttendaele, the convicted gangster's lawyer, has confirmed rumours about Habran's imminent release that had been circulating for a while.

The octogenarian was sentenced to fifteen years in jail following a conviction based on charges of involvement in an attack on a money transport in Waremme in 1998. Habran was indicted as the brain behind the Habran gang, but a conviction on charges of involvement in a criminal gang failed.
