8-year-old Brussels runaway turns up in… Rotterdam

An eight-year-old boy that was missing from his home in Brussels has turned up more than 150 kilometres away in the Dutch city of Rotterdam. A taxi driver that had picked the boy up in the Blijdorp area of Rotterdam took the boy to the nearest police station.

There it transpired that the boy had taken the train from Brussels to the Netherlands. His concerned parents had already reported him missing to the police in Brussels.

And the Brussels police was looking for the boy. A family member travelled to Rotterdam straight away to collect the adventurous runaway.

There was much praise for the taxi driver that picked up the youngster and brought him to safety.
