Belgium's Anthony Vaccarello heads Saint Laurent

Belgian fashion designer Anthony Vaccarello has quit his job at Versus Versace and is joining the French house of fashion Saint Laurent. Vaccarello had served as creative director at Versus Versace since the beginning of last year.

The 33-year-old is following in the footsteps of John Galliano and Yves Saint Laurent. Vaccarello will serve as creative director at the house of fashion founded by Yves Saint Laurent in 1962. Vaccarello is famed for his taut and sexy creations.

Donatella Versace of Versus Versace said she was sad Anthony Vaccarello was leaving the Versace Family, but wished him every success.

Anthony Vaccarello succeeds Hedi Slimane at Saint Laurent. Anthony Vaccarello studied at the Brussels art school Ecole de La Cambre. He worked for Fendi, but in 2009 also established his own label Anthony Vaccarello.
