Britain's WPP snaps up Belgium's Famous

Famous, one of Belgium's biggest independent advertising agencies, is being acquired by Grey, a division of Britain's WPP. Grey is taking a majority stake in the Belgian advertiser.

Famous has an impressive track record working on campaigns for VRT Radio Klara (see above), the Flemish local transport company De Lijn, the Belgian rail company and brewer Jupiler. The advertising giant Famous, led by founder Marc Fauconnier, is being renamed FamousGrey.

WPP is the largest advertising agency in the world.
