Getting tourists to visit Flanders starts at the airport

The Flemish Tourist Board has launched a campaign to get passengers using Zaventem Airport, near Brussels to visit our region. The campaign will use short promotional films and special digital screens onto which visitors to Flanders can post their selfies.

The digital screen feature three themes. The first is art and culture in which the Flemish Masters such as Rubens and Bruegel play a big role. The second theme is gastronomy and the third theme is our cycling heritage.

The Flemish Tourism Minister Ben Weyts (Flemish nationalist) told VRT Radio 2 that "We are trying to get the 25 million passengers that travel via Zaventem to warm to the idea of visiting Flanders.

"We want to tempt tourists that are waiting with enjoyable experiences moving images 3D films and modern attractions”, Mr Weyts added.
