Rail strike on 10 and 11 July

OVS, the independent rail workers union, has confirmed that its members will be taking strike action from 3AM on Tuesday 10 July until 3AM on Thursday 12 July.  Another rail strike planned for 12 to 14 July will now not go ahead.

The state rail company's human resources division HR Rail that in law is the employer of rail company workers says that yesterday's meeting with the union failed to result in a reconciliation.  Under a recent Belgian law a minimal service will be guaranteed.

Permission for another strike action planned by a different union, the ASTB, has been withheld.  ASTB wanted to strike from 3AM on Thursday 12 July until 3AM on Saturday 14 July.
