It was in September 2016 that the provocative and controversial street art depicting a rather large male member first appeared on the side of a building in Sint-Gillis. Not everybody was enamoured but both the proprietor and the local mayor decided it could stay. They now deny any involvement in the art work's removal.
Following its appearance two years ago several copycat works appeared across the Belgian and Flemish capital. They included depictions of sexual penetration, masturbation and even an anus. Art lovers discern the same hand at work in all four murals, but the artist or artiste has never come forward.
