Ryanair cancels 50 flights to and from Belgium

Staff at low budget airline Ryanair are taking industrial action next week. Up to 300 flights are being cancelled next Wednesday and Thursday including 50 departing or with destinations in Belgium.

Cabin staff from Belgium, Portugal, Italy and Spain are walking out because Ryanair offers its employees working conditions according to Irish law.  These are less advantageous than elsewhere.  300 of the Irish carrier's 2,400 flights are being grounded.  Belgium is badly affected with 50 of the 160 Belgian flights cancelled.
